Prospecting with Doctors and Health Practitioners

So you’ve discovered Jusuru! You’ve researched the patents behind BioCell Collagen. You’ve learned how to spell hyaluronic acid. You’ve studied the key benefits of our product and the synergistic health benefits. You’ve also begun to have your own product results and have heard from countless others how Jusuru has impacted their lives. Now you think you’re ready, it’s time to enroll a doctor or a health practitioner. You feel that with all the research and credibility, any doctor would be running to join your business and could possibly even be your biggest leg.

You begin making a list of all the MD’s and health practitioners you know or have heard about. After many attempts you finally get an appointment with the first one on your list at his/her office next week. As the big date arrives you make sure you’re armed with the Scientific Perspective and some brochures. After arriving at the office and a few minutes of small talk you begin your ‘pitch’, but after just two minutes the doctor takes a glance at his watch. You feel like you’re losing him/her already. You are so excited and have been looking forward to this meeting all week, but as you explain the product benefits you can’t understand why the interest level is not there. After fifteen minutes, the doctor’s assistant interrupts and the doctor quips, “Thank you so much for stopping by can you leave some more information with me to review?”

Weeks later and countless emails and phone calls to the office and you realize you’re not going to hear back. What did you do wrong? Frustration sets in as your hopes fall flat and now the 500-pound phone weighs even more. If only that doctor had signed up, surely it would have been a windfall for your business. If only...

Believe it or not, this scenario is more common than you might think. As a matter of principle, most doctors are skeptics. It is, in fact, their job to be skeptical because they have our lives in their hands. While many doctors and a much higher amount of health practitioners do recommend dietary supplements, it holds true that the majority rely primarily on pharmaceutical drugs. Since dietary supplements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration, and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, recommending supplements can be a gray area for MD’s. Thus, approaching doctors and health practitioners should be attempted with care. Furthermore, you should have the help of your sponsor or sponsorship team, some thick-skinned persistence and a lot of passion.

It has been said that there are three components to a healthy life: A healthy diet, plenty of exercise and a positive mental attitude. Adding Jusuru as the forth component can truly support your overall well-being. So how can you get more doctors and health practitioners into your business? We’ve surveyed many of the doctors who also happen to be iReps about what approach, tools and overall direction works best when introducing Jusuru to health professionals. This survey included conversations with plastic surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, research scientists, family and general practice, chiropractors, dermatologists, and others. We found something interesting as a common thread amongst all with whom we spoke: Results speak volumes.

While doctors by nature rely upon research and clinical studies, anecdotal experiences from their own patients or network about something that is working can actually be the best ‘medicine’ when it comes to prospecting with them. They inherently want to know why. It piques their interest and they want to search for an explanation. By sharing product results it can then lead them to asking you for information instead of the other way around. Additionally, sharing the studies found in the Scientific Perspective document (found online at www.JusuruResources.com) as well as the recent BioCell Collagen published clinical trial from the Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry (found online at http://thejusurublog.blogspot.com/2012/04/world-renowned-scientific-journal.html) can be two compelling tools, in addition to either the popular joint or skin brochures. In any case, every doctor is different and will relate to you through your passion, personality and story.
