Last Tuesday, I had the honor of attending the Frost & Sullivan 2011 Excellence in Medical Technologies and Life Sciences Awards Banquet to receive an award for 2010/2011 Best Joint Health Ingredient/Customer Value Enhancement Award for BioCell Technology. I've had several questions about what exactly this award means to Jusuru, and requests to share information about Frost & Sullivan.
Frost & Sullivan is the world's largest market research firm. For fifty years, they have provided in-depth research coverage across industries (everything from information technology, health and medical products to aerospace and engineering). They provide CEOs (and their growth and expansion departments) with disciplined research and best practice models to drive the generation, evaluation, and implementation of powerful growth strategies. Frost & Sullivan leverages fifty years of experience in partnering with Global 1000 companies, emerging businesses and the investment community from more than 35 offices on six continents. Truly, they are the go-to firm for all matters related to emerging markets and best industry practices.
In October 2004, Frost & Sullivan published research that identified "Increased Health Consciousness Enhances Focus on Benefits of Nutraceuticals", and have since discussed the significant growth potential for the nutraceutical industry. It was in September 2009, when their research team, through years of research and collecting data, specified that the bone and joint health segment deserved attention on its own. In their press release, particular focus on the aging population and heightened consumer awareness made bone and joint health a viable market that would rapidly grow from $178.4 million in 2008 and estimates to reach $246.4 million in 2015. Further research lead to identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of each company within the context of the total industry and growth potential and market trends.
Fast forward just a couple of years and here we are today… BioCell Technology is the only company to be recognized for BEST PRACTICES in the joint and bone health industry for its BioCell Collagen II. The criteria for this award includes an in-depth analysis of every competitor in this category in the following areas: marketing, sales leadership, corporate strategy, corporate development, market position, R&D/innovation, competitive intelligence, and intellectual property. It is through this analysis, that the Frost & Sullivan's Best Practices Team recognized BioCell Technology for its "outstanding accomplishments."
The awards night, which focused on the entire health and medical industries, recognized other companies such as Affymetrix, Cell>Point, TeraRecon, Siemens Health Care, and US Cellular (among others) for best practices within their respective sectors. Previous recipients of this award include BMW, Dell, and AT&T. It's so prestigious that BMW put the award on their ad campaign, both television and print, when they won the Best Practices award.
Here's a direct excerpt from the white paper that was written on the award methodology from Frost & Sullivan: "Frost & Sullivan notes that a taste free form was launched in 2007 and BioCell Technology has given Jusuru International, Inc. the exclusive license to market BioCell Collagen II® in a liquid dietary supplement." So, my friends, this is an honor and an unprecedented validation that what you have in Jusuru is cutting-edge, yes, but also best-in-class. Not only for efficacy but also for how we are leading our industry.
Thank you for the support and confidence you've granted to Jusuru from its inception. You've taken my word about how innovative our company is and will continue to be.
